Hi, I'm Sara ✽

I create and sell handmade artwork from reclaimed materials — macramé plant holders, wall hangings, dreamcatchers, keychains, and shelves. I'm an environmentalist at heart, so most of what you see began as something else: barnwood from Cache Valley fences, beads from broken necklaces, wool from a local goat named Regina, feathers ethically sourced and professionally cleaned.

The name? Hippos look easygoing, floating along — but they're famously the fiercest animals in the river. That's how I make: playful and free on the surface, fiercely intentional in every knot. This is my full-time work, and no two pieces will ever be the same, because each one is made by hand, by me, in Logan, Utah.

You'll find me most Saturdays at the Cache Valley Gardeners Market, Booth 79, where I also serve as Assistant Market Manager. Come say hi — the cotton is even softer in person.
